Come Closer to Me is a 3 track movement of soul and jazz.

As I prepare to embark upon making my first jazz album...what better way than sharing a part of this journey with you. I instantly fell in love with the melody and pleading energy of "Skylark" by Hoagy Carmichael.

"Come Closer to Me" is a coming of age love song I wrote to myself to remind myself that I am the bigger part of the reason why my personal and professional life has taken so many interesting turns. A reminder that in order to truly give love unconditionally, I have to continue to do the work to heal and love myself first and be gentle with my heart.

"Here's To Life" by Artie Butler and Phyllis Molinary was deeply inspired back when I was a 19 year old and happened to run across and old cassette tape of Shirley Horn singing this beautiful, sultry classic. I was inspired to record it by my fellow Libra and Morehouse brother Jamal Ahmad. I grateful for his suggestion that is now a fruition.
